What is Microdermabrasion?

Microdermabrasion is an exfoliation technique that is used to remove the topmost layer of skin exposing the healthy skin beneath it.  At DeSoto's Salon we use a top of the line line machine called the DiamondTome.   The top layer of skin is removed using natural diamond chips while the dead skin cells are vacuumed away.  This method is safe and sterile and leaves the skin with a smoother texture while promoting the growth of healthy new skin cells.  Microdermabrasion may be used to treat sun damage, age spots, minor fine lines, acne scarring, blackhead and whiteheads, minor scars, hyperpigmentation, and oily skin.  Generally a series of treatments is recommended for optimum results.  After the treatment your skin may look slightly flushed but should return to normal within 10-30 minutes leaving a healthy glow and smoother skin!
